CHAMPIONSHIP
Tuesday, 10 June 2008
CSC girls wrapped-up their 2nd title
of the year when they won the Girls under-18 Championship
at Delta stadium beating Jansenites 2-1 in a trilling
final.
Jansenites were in front in the 10th
minute when their strikers harmless shot at goal
from an acute angle went past the CSC goalkeeper.
Under pressure CSC began mounting raids
after raids at the Jansenites goal which resulted
in Jansenites conceding four penalty corners within
ten minutes. Sabrina finally equalized for CSC to
bring the score to 1-1 of the third short corner
to level the score. CSC stretched the lead further
in the 24th minute from a Sakina shot at goal. The
score at 2-1 in favour of CSC and the game well
balanced.
Jansenites tried to level the score
as they began to attack in numbers but their forwards
squandered away three more penalty corners. The
game ended in favour of CSC.
The jubilant CSC Girls carried the cup
for the first time.

DEFEND UNDER-18 Title
Tuesday, 10 June 2008
CSC Boys were upset 3-1 by SRC in the
semi-finals in this years under-18 Championship
at Delta stadium. CSC the defending champions were
not at their best even though they had beaten SRC
in the group matches 1-0. The under-15 Boys were
are unplaced.

CSC YOUNGSTERS WIN

to give CSC Youngsters a hard fought 1-0 win in
the final of the Tornadoes Under-20 Hockey Festival
5-a-side tournament on Sunday 18 May at the Hockey
Village.
The final match was decided by a single goal.
In the preliminary rounds, CSC had outplayed all
its competition without conceding a single goal.
The young CSC team will next defend its under-18
title it last won in 2007.
CSC Manager said that they were delighted to finally
make good in the tournament in their first attempt.
“We made our debut this year and finished
champion. It feels great,” he said.
“This tournament is to help us prepare for
the SHF Under-18 tournament starting next month
and we will try to retain the cup we won last year.
This win will definitely be a big boost for us in
the Under-18 Tournament.”
GOOD SHOW BY CSC
WOMEN'S TEAM
Sunday, 04 May 2008
CSC
almost shattered SRC’s dream of finishing
in the top of the Women’s Premier league yesterday
at Delta Stadium. However the young CSC team had
to settle for a 1-2 defeat.
Playing their second last game against one of the
front runners in the league CSC started nervously
with SRC forcing the first corner of the game in
the 1st minute which CSC custodian Wei Chi did well
to save.
After some nice play in the 14th minute a free
hit from SRC mid fielder saw their forward deflecting
the ball to the roof of the CSC goal. SRC lead 1-0.
SRC forced a penalty corner in the 23 minute which
was again well defended and two minutes later after
a mistake by the CSC defense allowed SRC to extend
the lead to 2-0.
CSC started the second half stronger with a great
move in the middle result in a shot at the SRC goal
but the shot was saved.
In the 65th minute CSC's best chance of the game
followed when a Subrina shot beat the SRC custodian
to make the final score 2-1 in SRC favor.
CSC MEN WIN 2-1 TO MOVE TO MID
TABLE
Sunday, 27 April 2008
CSC
recorded a narrow 2-1 victory over SCC to move to
mid table in the on going Premier Men’s Hockey
League at Delta Stadium here on Sunday.
CSC recorded their fourth in the league and their
second over SCC to stay with 12 points from four
win and three loss mid way in the league.
CSC began the match with a few fast-paced attacks
which resulted in a penalty stroke in the 15 minute.
Faizal put the goal away for CSC to lead 1-0.
CSC went in top gear and found their touch and
surged ahead in the 25th minute through Faizal and
maintained the 2-0 lead till the breather.
After the break, CSC were still dominating but
their forwards muffed a few chances that came their
way.
SCC found a consolation late in the game after
the CSC defender stop playing for a leg infringement
by the SCC attacker which the umpire totally missed.
CSC next play SAFSA and Police on the weekend of
10 and 11 May.
CSC WOMEN FAIL TO RECORD SECOND WILL
Sunday,27 April 2008
A
late goal to Thressians gave them their first victory
of the Women’s Premier league at the expense
of the CSC Women’s team who were going for
their second win of the season.
Despite not having their full squad due to on going
school exams CSC put up a good show and were unlucky
not to come away with their second win in the league.
Eunice was outstanding for CSC. CSC was in full
control of the game.
This trend continued during their first half against
Thressians and they controlled their fair share
of the play and would have considered themselves
unlucky not to have scored from a few chances in
the first half.
The game remained a tight affair early in the second
half until Thressians broke the deadlock at the
55 minute mark from their fifth penalty corner to
set up their first victory of the tournament.CSC
lost 0-1.
CSC Men in narrow win over SAFSA
Sunday, 13 April 2008
Mohd
Fazri scored a 50th minute goal as CSC played to
a stunning 2-1 victory over under-21 Champions SAFSA.
SAFSA must be kicking themselves for fiddling around
in their defensive third when the score was 1-1
and their indecision resulted in Fazri picking the
bottom corner for CSC’s winning goal.
SAFSA and Police were evenly matched when a defensive
lapse by the SAFSA last man resulted in the opening
goal. Mohd Azrul pounced on a turnover in the opposing
22 to net an absolute blinder past a despairing
SAFSA man in goal.
SAFSA did well, too, to shrug off a one-goal deficit
to equalize in the 27th minute through a superb
deflected goal of a free hit outside CSC ‘D’.
However Fazri’s opportunistic efforts in the
second half was enough for CSC to record their 3rd
victory in the SHF Premier league and move them
up to 3rd in the league standing.
CSC women lost tight game
Sunday, 12 April 2008
Luckless! That’s how the CSC women’s
hockey team felt after their 0-1 lost to Cresent
Club in the Women’s Premier League at Delta,
yesterday.
How the CSC team that had dominated the entire
game could loose 0-1 is a wonder. The CSC team were
understandably distraught over the lost to the opponent
as it denied CSC women a place in the top half of
the league.
“We had prepared well for this game and
to end a match in such fashion is really disappointing”.

Under-strength CSC men thumped
Sunday, 6 April 2008
An
under-strength CSC Men’s Premier league team,
were thumped 1-4 by Police Team in their fourth
match of the Singapore premier league at Delta.
With four senior players missing the CSC men having
also played a friendly with a visiting South African
team earlier in the day were no match for the lawmen.
Despite the handicap the first 20 minutes were quite
even but once Police scored their first goal it
was just a matter of time before they increased
their lead. Police went in the break 2-0 up.
Police dominated this match despite their best
efforts of CSC players and they were 4-0 up before
CSC scored a consolation thru Favil who will be
suspended for the next match after picking up a
green and yellow card.
“We looked very tired and we were a disjointed
team, we missed a great chance to move up to 2nd
place in the league and we need to improve our game
if we are to finish higher in the league.”
CSC Team Manger said.
CSC Women in another big loss
Sunday, 30 March 2008
CSC
women suffer their heaviest loss in the current
women’s premier league today losing to SRC
0-6. This is their second heavy loss after their
0-4 lost last week. The CSC defense was so porous
that within fifteen minutes they were down 0-4,
with the first goals scored in the 2nd minute. The
defenders were slow and were always a step slower
then their SRC forwards. The defenders did not cover
each other when one of them go for the tackle. This
resulted in the SRC attack having aches of space
to exploit the CSC defense.
The first half ended 0-5 and only in the second
half did the CSC team show what they were capable
of and held the SRC team back for long periods.
SRC scored their last goal of the blind side when
the entire CSC defense had failed to cleared a right
side cross.
“We were just not in the game in the first
half” CSC manager Andrew said at the end of
the game
CSC given hard
time in 0-4 lost
Sunday, 23 March 2008
With
the National Schools ‘B’ Girls finals
on Tuesday at the back of their mind CSC were well
beaten by Jansenites on Sunday. Jansenites beat
CSC 4-0 and move to the top of the table in the
on going Premier Women’s League.
CSC defense could not handle the Jansenite’s
penalty corner executions as they conceded three
goals within the first fifteen minutes of play.
Goalkeeper We Chi was outstanding in CSC goal but
with CSC defense at the receiving end, the CSC team
conceded their fourth goal thru a penalty stroke.
“Our priority was the National schools Finals
on Tuesday, The girls will be defending their title,
as such the team did not use most of the first choice
players today.” Said team manager Andrew.
CSC ladies win
first Premier League game 2-0
Saturday, 22 March 2008
CSC
recorded their first win in the on-going Premier
Women’s league with a very convincing 2-0
win over Crescent Club. They totally dominated the
game and hardly gave their opponent any room to
play. CSC were 2-0 up by the 20th minute and were
in cruise control through out the match. The difference
in class was very apparent as CSC custodian did
not get into action for the entire match.
CSC drew first blood in the 15 minute leading 1-0
through Hazlina’s close range shot. And with
sustained pressure Sabrina increased the lead in
the 25th minute with a wonder goal scored of a reversed
flick.
"We did not push for goals in the 2nd half
as we have another game on Sunday and the School’s
‘B’ Girls finals on Tuesday” CSC
team manager Andrew said
CSC girls win Division
1 opener 3-1
Sunday, 16 March 2008
The CSC girls averaging only 15 years open their
Division 1 league with an upset 3-1 win over former
champions Tornados Theresians 3-1 at CCAB on Sunday.
CSC women loss
Premier opener 1-2
Sunday, 16 March 2008
CSC women went down to Police 1-2 and suffered
their first defeat in the women's Premier Women’s
league, on Sunday night. Two quick goals in the
first half of the match put paid to CSC hopes of
scoring their first victory in the tournament. Police
the previous winners of the league recorded their
first win in the six-team league. As often CSC have
themselves to blame for their prodigality in the
striking circle and loose defending in their ‘D”.
They were the better side but failed to make the
best of the chances that came their way. Eunice
scored CSC’s consolation goal late in the
second half
The tournament continues on Saturday 22 March
with CSC women playing Crescent at 3.00pm at Delta.
CSC men loss tight
match 0-1
Sunday, 16 March 2008
CSC men lost its second Premier League game here
at Delta Stadium 0-1 against tournament favorite
SRC on Sunday. In fast and furious encounter, CSC
could have taken a 1-0 lead in the thirteen minute
of the first half through centre half Mohammad Farhan
penalty corner, but he missed the sitter by inches.
CSC who had dominated the game for long periods
in the first half later failed to maintain an upper
hand as SRC retaliated to score a goal of a mistake
by a CSC defender which resulted in a penalty corner
for SRC to score.
For long period of CSC sustained pressure on SRC
team but the equalizer just did not come and had
to settle for the 0-1 loss. However, the team performed
above expectation and our target of finishing in
the top two is within the team’s ability.
The men do not play this weekend. CSC men next
play ORA on March 29 at Delta at 4.30pm.
CSC men beat SCC
2-0 in Premier League opener
Saturday,
15 March 2008
CSC men made a welcome return to the Men’s
Premier Hockey League 2008 by winning their opening
clash 2-0 against SCC here on Saturday at Delta
Stadium.
CSC who had taken a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute
of the first half, through centre forward Ganesh
from an open play move started by Aidil. CSC playing
without half of its senior players controlled the
game from start to end. Captain Faisal scored CSC
second goal from a well worked penalty corner mid
way in the second half. CSC failed to add on the
goal score and had to settle for a well deserved
2-0 win.
CSC
go down to SAFSA
Saturday, 08 March 2008
CSC went down to SAFSA 1-2 and suffered their third
Cup Final in five years. Yesterday’s defeat
in the men's Under-21 Tournament 2008 on Sunday
night.
A goal in the dying minutes of the match was just
not enough for CSC's hopes of scoring their first
victory in the SHF under-21 tournament.
As often CSC have themselves to blame for their
inability to score in the striking circle. They
were the better side but failed to make the best
of the chances that came their way.
CSC were off to a fantastic start when Captain
Fazil missed a open sitter form the first penalty-corner
of the match. It was costly mistake as SAFSA scored
from a comedy of error by the CSC rear guard.
But CSC had Faisal sent to the cooler in the 15th
minute and with one men down SAFSA then went 2-0
ahead in the 17th minute after a quick passing bout
down the right. SAFSA, on entering the circle, swept
the ball which CSC goalkeeper Yong Chiang did well
to stop. SAFSA player, following through, capitalized
on the rebound and scored easily.
CSC pressed hard for the equalizer and were rewarded
for their efforts in the 50th minute when Faizal
scored from a neat move down the right when Farhan
put him in possession.
And CSC dominated the rest of the match but just
could not find the wqualiser and had to settle for
the runner-up position for the third time in five
years.

Manager
blames semi-finals defeat to loss of form
Saturday, 25 February 2008
CSC Team Manager Andrew blamed lost of form for
CSC Girl's 0-1 defeat against OVAJC in the semi-finals
of the SHF women's under-21 tournament at Delta
Stadium Thursday.
"We were unable to capitalize on our possession
and convert them into goals. And when you don’t
score you don’t win games." Andrew said.
"Had we been more disciplined and taken any
of our chances in our game, the result would have
been different,"
CSC had lapses in the midfield and deep defence
helped OVAJC sustain pressure on CSC and that the
match-winner was a result of avoidable mistakes.
The match could have gone either way.
CSC also missed a penalty stroke late in the second
half. With the lost in the semi-finals CSC failed
for the second year running to make it to the SHF
women's under-21 tournament.

CSC
MEN THRASH SRC TO CAPTURE NATIONAL 6s OPEN MEN TITLE
CSC
won the National 6-a-side Open Men’s Title
2008 with a 3-0 demolition of SRC yesterday at the
Delta Stadium. CSC finished the tournament as the
only undefeated team. Scoring a total of 24 goals
and one against.
"It took us a while to get going, but once
we did, we were pretty unstoppable," said manager
Andrew Ooi.
"We're pleased with a good start to this
years tournament, we appear to have gelled well
as a team and are ready for the Premier League this
year. We are now looking forward to the Premier
league."
BAD CALLS UPSET CSC PREMIER TEAM AT NATIONAL

CSC the youngest team in the Premier Mens Division
at the National 6-a-side tournament were beaten
by SRC 2-1. CSC had two players suspended in the
finals. After taking the lead 1-0 it had captain
Faizal and Khairul suspended by the officials in
the finals. With only 4 players CSC were beaten
by two dubious penalties.
CSC GIRLS FAIL TO MAKE THE FINALS
The CSC girls could not overcome their tough opponents
to make any headway in the National 6-a-side Women’s
tournament yesterday.
CSC
GIRLS CRUISE TO THE SEMI-FINALS OF UNDER-21 HOCKEY
TOURNAMENT 2008
The
CSC Under-21 Girl's Hockey Team reached the semi-final
of the SHF Under-21 Hockey Tournament 2008 for the
second year running. They topped Group A with 5
wins and a draw with 40 goals scored and 1 against
and in the process gaining 16 points out of a possible
18. They meet OVA-VJC for a place in the Girls final.
Last year they had bowed out at semi-finals to SRC
on penalty flicks. The OVA Team which is made up
of a majority of last year’s SRC Girls will
be gunning for another win. Revenge is on the card
and we expect an exciting semi-final.
Their Team had won the Division 1 convincingly
last year.
"Our team is hungry for success and wants
to win the only Tournament at Youth Level which
CSC have not won and the girls are going all the
way to put that right" said CSC Team Manager
Andrew.

BOYS MAKES IMPRESSIVE START IN UNDER-21 HOCKEY TOURNAMENT
2008
The CSC Under-21 Boy's Hockey Team opened their
SHF Under-21 Group B Hockey campaign 2008 match
on Saturday 26 January with a thumping 23-0 demolition
of Shru-TJC at Delta Stadium. The Boys followed
that up with a 11-0 humbling of Tornadoes on Sunday
27 January at CCAB.
The current Under-21 Team was formed with a number
of players from CSC that won the Under-18 Tournament
last year and with the addition of our more experienced
senior players coming back from national service,
the team look well balanced and hungry for success.
This is the only Tournament that CSC has not won
after two finals and four semi-finals appearances
from 2002 to 2006. We hope that they will have better
luck this time round.
"We have a very good team this year and we
intend to go all the way this time round" said
CSC Team Manager Andrew.
Speaking about the opposition, Andrew expected
tough challenges to come from ORA and SRC in the
group stages and from SAFSA, Police and Jansenites
in the later stages.
"CSC will also be using this Tournament to
prepare for the upcoming 2008 Premier Men’s
League season in March.
"Since we will be playing in the Premier League
this year after winning the Division 1 League last
year, the bulk of the Premier side will come from
this team" Andrew added.

CSC
Boys do Singapore proud in the Junior Asia Cup qualifier
in Oman
Six CSC boys were part of the Singapore squad that
participated in the Second Junior Asia Cup Qualifier
from 18 to 23 January 2008 in Oman. The CSC boys
were Farhan Suhali, Mohd Fazli, Mohd Fazri, Azrul,
Mohd Aidil and Nizam. They formed the backbone of
the successful CSC under-18 and Division 1 League
Championship team of 2007. The Singapore Squad comprising
mostly under-18 players were up against China, Chinese
Taipei, host Oman, Sri Lanka and Thailand. Most
of the other teams were made up of under-20 players
who were much bigger and stronger than our boys.
Mohd Aidil was one of the top performers for Singapore
scoring six (6) goals in the Tournament. Out of
the eight (8) goals Singapore scored in the Tournament
seven (7) came from CSC boys. These boys are being
prepared for the Junior World Cup in 2009 when Singapore
will co-host with Malaysia.
The results of the games played in Oman:
China 4 Singapore 1
Chinese Taipei 3 Singapore 2
Oman 2 Singapore 1
Sri Lanka 3 Singapore 1
Thailand 0 Singapore 1
5th/6th placing- Singapore 2 Thailand
"Our boys played brilliantly throughout the
Tournament “ said the top goal poacher for
Singapore, who scored both goals that gave Singapore
its win over Thailand in the final game
