CSC FINISH SECOND IN SHF PREMIER
LEAGUE 2006

CSC Premier league team on Tuesday finished second
in the recently concluded seven team National Premier
League.
SRC won the league after remaining unconquered
throughout the competition while CSC grabbed the
second position with 27 points out of possible 36,
scoring a massive 40 goals and conceding only 12
goals.
Under coach, Manjit Singh, Ceylon Sports Club won
9 of their 12 matches. The only losses came from
SRC(twice) and SAFSA. The CSC’s Hazmi finishing
the league as the top scorer with a massive 20 goals,
which accounts for half of all CSC goals in the
league. The team will now play in the semi-finals
on 11 June with Jansenites team which finished third.
The Premier finals will be on 17 June at delta.
Expressing satisfaction over the team’s performance,
manger, Manminder Singh said that the boys performed
according to their potential as this was their first
time they have made it to the Premier Semi-Finals.
It is worth mentioning that CSC team comprise mostly
of junior players below 21 years, and all our players
were locals, where as all other team had mostly
mature seasoned players and some with foreign international.

The match CSC vs POLICE in the Premier league.
The story: Mohd Hazmi slotted
in seven goals to steer CSC towards the runner-up
position in this year’s league, His
magnificent 7 led to a 9-0 win against Police
in the National Men’s Premier league
hockey championship at the Delta Stadium.
Hazmi came up with four field goals and three
through penalty corners. CSC other goals came
from centre forward Faisal and Favil Singh
as CSC ran goal riot.

The
women’s Premier league squad did not
perform as well . The team lost the bulk of
its senior players and had to rely on youngsters
to complete the league.
This team will be the favourites
for the under-18 tournament. Averaging only
17 years they will be a force to recond with
next year according to coach Manjit.

CSC under-18 team that won at the National
Carnival.
The team lead by National
trainees Sharuddin and Mohd Aidil won the
tournament with 10 goals scored and one against.
Beating SRC in the finals 4-1.
Top scoring for CSC was
Mohd Khairul with 5 goals.
