SPORTS CLUB Terms & Conditions for the use
of Function Hall/Sports Lounge / Conference
Room
- The Hirer will make use of
the Facility strictly for the purpose that
it is hired for. Any variation of the use
of the Facility shall be with the prior approval
of the Hon. Secretary or an authorized officer
of the Club. Hirer agrees that this application
is not transferable.
- Only a member of the Club ("Member")
shall be entitled to hire the Facility on
reduced rate for hosting an approved function,
for use of the Member or the Member's immediate
family i.e. Member's spouse, children and
parents.
- Any misuse of the privilege,
if proven, will result in the relevant Member's
membership being suspended.
- The Hirer and guests shall
be permitted to use the Facility at the approved
times (i.e. from 6.30 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. for
the night session or 8 a.m. to 12 noon for
the morning session or 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. for
the afternoon session) and shall leave the
Club's premises within thirty minutes of the
time specified above at the end of relevant
session. The above approved times may be varied
by the Club as appropriate with adequate notice
to the Hirer. The Hirer is entitled to use
only the Facility that has been hired.
- The Hirer shall be responsible
for the good conduct of all Hirer's representatives
and guests during the function and until they
leave the Club's premises. The Hirer will
ensure that noise and music will be maintained
at a minimum level throughout the function.
Should noise or music reach unacceptable levels
during the function, the Management Committee
shall have the right to request the Hirer
or the Hirer's representatives to reduce it
with immediate effect and to take other action
as appropriate including the forfeiture of
the Hirer's deposit in part or in full.
- The Club reserves its right
to refuse entry to any member and/or guests
as well as to ask him/her to leave the Club's
premises without any reasons thereof.
- The Hirer will make use of
own manpower and resources to arrange the
tables, chairs and any other furniture and
return the same to their proper places, after
the function, failure of which would result
in the deduction from the deposit of the amount
deemed appropriate by the Club. The Hirer
shall coordinate with the relevant caterer
in this regard.
- The Hirer shall be liable for
any damage whatsoever to the Club's property,
movable or immovable, caused by the Hirer,
Hirer's representative, guests or any other
person who is in the Facility during the usage
of the Facility by the Hirer.
- The Hirer will ensure that
all refuse is deposited in the litterbins
provided and not left indiscriminately in
the Facility or the Club's premises; failure
of which would result in the deduction from
the deposit of the amount deemed appropriate
by the Club.
- Food can either be ordered
from the Club's caterer or an outside caterer
approved by the Management Committee. The
Club shall not be responsible for the quality
of the food or any complaints arising thereof
in respect of the catering arrangements. The
particulars of the outside caterer should
be provided to the Club at the time of booking.
- The food served must be prepared
at licensed premises or obtained from licensed
or approved sources as per regulations of
the Environmental Health Office/Commissioner
of Public Health.
- No Duty Free Beverages are
allowed in the Club's premises. The Hirer
shall pay corkage charges of $30.00 per bottle
for any liquor not purchased from the Club's
bar and consumed in the Club's premises.
- All orders for drinks must
be settled in full at the time of the order.
Hirer or Hirer's representatives or guests
will not be permitted to hold bar bills until
the end of the function.
- The Hirer shall not
be permitted to mount decorations on walls,
ceiling and doors of the Facility, without
the prior consent of the Management Committee
or an authorised officer of the Club. A minimum
amount of S$100/- and a maximum of the full
deposit amount will be deducted from the deposit
in the event that the decorations are not
removed or if there is damage arising from
the decorations.
- The Hirer and Hirer's
representatives and guests must at all times
be properly attired. No shorts or slippers
are allowed in the Club's premises.
- The Club shall not be
held responsible for any loss of items or
injury sustained by the Hirer or the Hirer's
representatives and guests whilst at the Club.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited
in the Facility. It shall be the duty of the
Hirer to ensure that Hirer's representatives
and guests do not smoke in the Facility at
all times.
- The Facility shall be
opened 2 hours prior to the time of booking
for any arrangement, during which period the
air conditioner shall not be switched on.
- The deposit will be refunded,
after any deduction for expenses incurred
by the Club on cleaning or for repairs or
to reinstate the Facility to its original
condition or any breach of this Terms &
Conditions or for non-compliance of the Rules
and By-Laws of the Club, within 7 working
days after the function. The Club reserves
its right to impose additional charges if
the expenses incurred exceed the full deposit
amount or if it decides to impose a penalty
for any breach of the Terms & Conditions
or for non-compliance of the Rules & Bye-Laws
of the Club.
- In the event the Hirer
decides to cancel this application due to
unforeseen circumstances the following penalty
will be charged and deducted from the deposit:
- Less than 3 days - Full
deposit Forfeited
Less than 1 week - $150.00
Less than 2 weeks $100.00
- Only bookings that are
fully paid as per receipts issued by the Club
and for which the Terms & Conditions as
outlined herein are acknowledged by the Hirer
signing the same shall be considered confirmed.
The Club is under no obligation to confirm
any other booking.
- The Club and the Hirer
shall by mutual consent make necessary changes
to the venue (within the Club's premises)
or timing of any function, if the Facility
becomes unavailable after confirmation of
booking due to unforeseen circumstances. In
the event of there being no consent, the Club
shall cancel the booking and refund the deposit
to the Hirer in full and shall not be subject
to any further claims by the Hirer in respect
of such cancellation.
- Car Park Coupons can
be purchased at the Club in bulk for the Hirer
and Hirer's guests. Cars parked at the former
Rangoon Secondary School must display valid
Car Park Coupons and must be parked in the
designated Car Park Lots. Non-Compliance may
result in the car being towed away or clamped
without further warning.
- The Hirer shall have
no claim against the Club for any breach of
agreement between the Hirer and the relevant
caterer.
