organised about three years ago, they have
been well received.
Birthdays
Members celebrating their
birth anniversaries at the Club are given

Mentor Scheme
The
Mentor Scheme was launched on August 26, 1995
to boost the academic performances of students
and to encourage social and moral development.
The Students are mainly from The Rangoon Secondary
School, just across the CSC ground. The Scheme's
Chairman and Coordinator at that time Mr.
M. Sivaraj said in the interview with the
Straits Times dated October 11, 1996, "We
have been monitoring the students performance
in examinations. Over the past few months
most have improved". On approaching him,
the Principal of the School furnished the
Club with a list of students for whom mentors
were sought to assist them. While coaching
has been a priority, the scheme has also explored
ways to build character and teach students
to cope with the outside world. Since then,
the Club has presented Merit Awards annually
to those who have shown promise in their studies.

for the first time ever, the team successfully
organised a Hi-Tea and fashion show, followed
by a buffet lunch for members of the staff in
the Club's premises. This attracted more members
of the fairer sex who would otherwise have been
unaware of the existence of the CSC. It also
paved the way to a family oriented Club.Which
incidentally, is one of the goals of the Management
Committee. Social
